A place that seems almost unreal: The Ngorongoro Crater appears like its own self-contained world, full of life and impressive contrasts. During your game drive through this unique natural paradise, you may encounter an extraordinary variety of wildlife.

Surrounded by steep crater walls, a landscape unfolds that ranks among Africa's most spectacular. Together with your guide, you will discover this special setting and experience moments that will stay with you for a long time.

The vastness of the Serengeti opens up a world that is both powerful and calming. On extensive game drives, you will experience the diversity of wildlife up close, from large herds to fascinating individual observations amidst the golden savannah.

As the sun slowly sets on the horizon and bathes the landscape in warm light, the Serengeti reveals its most beautiful side. In the evening, you will enjoy the special atmosphere: the gentle crackling of the campfire, the sounds of the wilderness, and the clear starry sky above you. Moments like these make your safari unforgettable.

After your safari, you will first drive to the airport in Arusha, from where your flight to Zanzibar takes off. This transition already marks a special moment of your journey. The contrast could hardly be greater: From the wild, pristine nature of Tanzania, you will enter a tropical island paradise with turquoise waters and white sandy beaches.

Even the flight itself will be a highlight: From the air, you will once again experience the vast landscapes of Africa before the sparkling blue of the Indian Ocean opens up beneath you. A change of perspective that elegantly rounds off your journey.

Upon your arrival in Zanzibar, you will dive directly into the fascinating world of Stone Town. During a guided tour, you will stroll through the winding alleys of the historic old town, discover intricately carved doors, and feel the unique mix of Arabian, African, and European influences.

A special highlight is the visit to the local market, where exotic scents, fresh spices, tropical fruits, and the vibrant hustle and bustle of the locals await you, providing an authentic insight into everyday life in Zanzibar.

You will spend the night in a stylish hotel in the heart of Stone Town, surrounded by history and oriental flair.

To conclude your journey, your driver will comfortably take you from Stone Town to the north of Zanzibar, to Nungwi – known for some of the island's most beautiful beaches. You can expect powdery white sand, crystal-clear water, and palm trees gently swaying in the warm breeze.

Here, you will spend your last days at your own pace: Relax on the beach, enjoy the turquoise sea, or simply reflect on the experiences of your journey. The relaxed atmosphere and tropical setting make it easy to completely unwind to the sound of the sea.

The official currency in Tanzania is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). For everyday expenses like restaurants, local markets, or small shops, Tanzanian Shillings are usually used for payment.

In tourist areas, hotels, and with safari providers, US dollars and euros are often accepted.

Money can be easily withdrawn in larger cities and at many ATMs, usually in Tanzanian Shillings.

International credit cards like Visa or Mastercard are accepted at many ATMs.

Before traveling to Tanzania, we recommend scheduling an appointment with a travel medicine specialist at least 8 weeks in advance. There, you will receive personalized advice on necessary or recommended vaccinations as well as important health precautions for your trip.

Since Tanzania is a malaria-risk area, malaria prophylaxis is often recommended. The travel medicine specialist can also advise you on suitable vaccinations and assess whether your existing vaccinations are sufficient or if boosters are advisable.

Special questions about the safari

Game drives usually start very early around 7:00 am as that's when the animals are most active. You will be in a vehicle with a pop-up roof that provides excellent all-around visibility. One pair of binoculars is provided per vehicle at no extra cost, but you can rent an additional pair for a fee.

Observe the animals quietly and always maintain a safe distance. In most cases, you will be in the safari vehicle during animal sightings and should only exit when permitted by your guide. Animals should never be touched or fed. Additionally, it's important not to leave any litter in nature!

In Tanzania, tipping is a fixed part of the driver's income. As a guideline, you should budget around 30 US dollars per day per vehicle. It's helpful to have cash in small denominations for such purposes.

You will typically have breakfast and dinner at your lodge (buffet or set menu). For lunch, your driver will provide a lunchbox for you to enjoy in the bush or prepare a warm bush dinner in nature. During game drives, there will be an ample supply of complimentary drinking water in the vehicle. If you have any food intolerances, please inform us at least four weeks before the trip.
