Tour Itinerary

Your safari adventure begins in Nairobi. After a short briefing with your safari guide, you will drive through the impressive landscapes of Kenya towards Amboseli National Park, with first views of the Great African Rift Valley and, on clear days, Mount Kilimanjaro.

In the afternoon, your first game drive begins. Look forward to huge herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, antelopes, and with some luck, lions. The vast plains and spectacular backdrop make Amboseli one of the most beautiful safari destinations in East Africa.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Today you head to the world-famous Masai Mara, one of the most spectacular safari areas in Africa. Along the way, you will encounter impressive landscapes, views of the Great African Rift Valley, and numerous photo stops before reaching your lodge.

In the afternoon, you explore the Masai Mara on your first game drive. With some luck, you will spot the Big Five as well as elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, and many other wildlife species in their natural habitat. The endless savannas and exceptional biodiversity make this national park an unforgettable safari experience.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Today, you spend the entire day in the legendary Masai Mara. Through extensive game drives in the morning and afternoon, you explore different regions of the reserve and have the best chances to observe the Big Five and numerous other wildlife species in their natural environment.

At midday, enjoy a picnic in the African savanna, surrounded by impressive nature. In the afternoon, the safari continues as your guide drives to the best spots for unforgettable animal sightings. Optionally, you can also visit a traditional Maasai village and learn more about the culture of the locals.

Meals:
Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, bid farewell to the Masai Mara and cross the border into Tanzania. After immigration formalities, continue to the northern Serengeti – one of the most pristine and wildlife-rich regions in Africa. During the Great Migration, this area is particularly known for the spectacular Mara River crossings.

In the afternoon, your first game drive in the Serengeti awaits. Look out for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and huge herds of wildebeests roaming the endless savannas. The diverse landscape of vast plains, acacias, and riverine forests makes this day another highlight of your safari.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Today, you explore the endless plains of the world-famous Serengeti. Optionally, you can start the day with a sunrise hot air balloon safari – an unforgettable experience with spectacular views over the savanna. Then, embark on a full-day game drive through different regions of the national park.

The Serengeti is one of the most wildlife-rich areas in Africa. With some luck, you may spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and – depending on the season – huge herds of wildebeests and zebras. Return to camp at sunset with unforgettable impressions.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, leave the Serengeti and head to the famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most spectacular wildlife conservation areas in Africa. During a game drive on the crater floor, you have the best chances to observe lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, and with some luck, even the rare black rhinoceros.

After a picnic amidst the impressive crater landscape, continue your journey to Arusha, where you will spend the last evening of your safari in relaxation.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, it's time to say goodbye. You will be taken to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) in time for your return journey, with unforgettable memories of the fascinating wildlife and breathtaking landscapes of East Africa.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Money can be easily withdrawn in major cities and at many ATMs. International credit cards like Visa or Mastercard are accepted at many ATMs.

Yes, we strongly recommend that you take out suitable travel insurance for your trip to Kenya and Tanzania.

Before a trip, we recommend scheduling an appointment with a tropical medicine specialist at least 8 weeks in advance. There, you will receive individual advice on necessary or recommended vaccinations as well as important health measures for your trip.

Since both countries are malaria risk areas, malaria prophylaxis is often recommended. The tropical medicine specialist can also advise you on suitable vaccinations and check whether your existing vaccination protection is sufficient or if booster shots are advisable.

In general, clothing on safari should be practical and in earth tones to avoid startling wildlife. In cities and villages, it is advisable to wear modest clothing that covers shoulders and knees.

Special questions about the safari

Game drives usually start very early around 7:00 AM as that is when the animals are most active. You will ride in a vehicle with a pop-up roof that offers great all-around visibility. One pair of binoculars is provided per vehicle free of charge, but you can rent an additional pair for a fee.

Observe the animals quietly and always maintain a safe distance. In most cases, you will be in the safari vehicle during animal sightings, and you should only exit when permitted by your guide. Animals should never be touched or fed. Additionally, it is important not to leave any litter in nature!

In Kenya and Tanzania, tipping is a fixed part of the income for drivers and guides. As a guideline, you should budget around 30 US dollars per day per vehicle. It is helpful to always have cash in small denominations for such purposes.

You will typically have breakfast and dinner at your lodge (buffet or set menu). For lunch, your driver will either provide a lunchbox for you to enjoy in the bush during the day or prepare a warm bush dinner in nature. During game drives, you will have access to an ample supply of free drinking water in the vehicle at all times. If you have any food intolerances, you should inform us at least four weeks before the trip.
