Today is all about settling in and preparing. You have the opportunity to relax at your accommodation, enjoy the pool, or explore the surroundings of Arusha at your own pace.

If you wish, you can take part in optional activities, such as a visit to the city, a local market, or a small excursion into the nature around Arusha. At the same time, there is plenty of time to get ready for the upcoming safari adventure.

Your guide is available at all times to answer your questions and ensure that you start the coming days well-prepared.

With the first light of the day, you depart from your lodge towards the legendary Serengeti. Your journey takes you through the impressive Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you embark on an exciting game drive along the way. With prepared lunch packs, you will have a meal at a spectacular viewpoint at the Ngorongoro Crater before continuing to the endless plains of the Serengeti through the Naabi Hill Gate.

Feel the freedom as you explore the majestic wildlife of Africa with open eyes and full of curiosity. In the evening, your comfortable accommodation awaits you in the midst of the wilderness, accompanied by the fascinating sounds of nature lulling you gently to sleep.

Today is all about wildlife and the legendary Big Five. After a hearty breakfast, you embark on a full-day game drive that takes you deep into the wild heart of the Serengeti. With some luck, you may encounter lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and even rhinos in their natural habitat. Also, observe large herds of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes, as well as the graceful movements of cheetahs and the elegance of giraffes.

You will enjoy your lunch as a picnic amidst this impressive backdrop. In the afternoon, you explore the unique kopjes, the rocky islands in the savannah that often serve as retreats for lions and leopards. After a day full of unforgettable animal encounters, you return to your lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you.

After breakfast, you set off for one of the absolute highlights of your journey: the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most impressive natural sites in Africa. Together with your experienced guide, you embark on an extensive game drive through this unique natural amphitheater known for its exceptionally high density of wildlife.

The crater offers you one of the best opportunities to experience the Big Five - Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard, and Rhino - often even in a single day. Observe these iconic animals in their natural habitat, as well as numerous other species that inhabit this special ecosystem.

You will enjoy your picnic lunch amidst this breathtaking landscape. In the late afternoon, you begin the return journey to Arusha, where you conclude your unforgettable safari in a relaxed manner before starting your journey back home.

After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to Tanzania and the unforgettable memories of your safari adventure. Depending on your flight schedule, you will be transferred to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward flight home.

Yes, you need a tourist visa for entry, which currently costs 50 USD. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry. It can be applied for online through the official government website or issued directly on arrival at the airport.  

The official currency in Tanzania is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS). For everyday expenses like restaurants, local markets, or small shops, Tanzanian Shillings are usually used for payment.

In tourist areas, hotels, and with safari providers, US dollars and euros are often accepted.

Money can be easily withdrawn in major cities and at many ATMs, usually dispensing Tanzanian Shillings. International credit cards like Visa or Mastercard are accepted at many ATMs.

Before traveling to Tanzania, we recommend scheduling an appointment with a tropical medicine specialist at least 8 weeks in advance. There, you will receive individual advice on necessary or recommended vaccinations and important health measures for your trip.

Since Tanzania is a malaria-risk area, malaria prophylaxis is often recommended.

The tropical medicine specialist can also advise you on suitable vaccinations and check whether your existing vaccination protection is sufficient or if booster shots are advisable.

In many parts of the country, the atmosphere is relaxed, but Zanzibar has a Muslim influence. Outside of the beaches, shoulders and knees should be covered; short shorts or crop tops are inappropriate in public spaces.

Game drives usually start very early around 7:00 a.m. as that is when the animals are most active. You will ride in a vehicle with a pop-up roof that provides excellent all-around visibility. One pair of binoculars is provided per vehicle at no cost, but you can rent an additional pair for a fee.

Observe the animals quietly and always maintain a safe distance. In most cases, you will be in the safari vehicle during animal sightings, and you should only exit when permitted by your guide. Animals should never be touched or fed. Additionally, it is important not to leave any litter in nature!

In Tanzania, tipping is a fixed part of the driver's income. As a guideline, you should budget around 30 US dollars per day per vehicle. It is helpful to always have cash in small denominations for such purposes.

You will typically have breakfast and dinner at your lodge (buffet or set menu). For lunch, your driver will provide a lunchbox for you to enjoy in the bush or prepare a warm bush dinner in nature. During game drives, there will be an ample supply of free drinking water in the vehicle at all times. If you have any food intolerances, you should inform us at least four weeks before the trip.
