Balloon Safari

On the day of your balloon ride, you will be picked up between 04:00 and 05:00 in the morning from your lodge or camp and driven to the launch site in a Land Rover or Land Cruiser. The ride is already reminiscent of a nocturnal game drive, where you may spot nocturnal animals with some luck.

At the launch site, you will meet your pilot, receive a detailed safety briefing, and witness the impressive inflation of the balloon. With the first light of the day – around 06:30 a.m. – the balloon takes off and gently ascends into the sky alongside the rising sun.

During the approximately one-hour flight, the direction is solely determined by the wind. The pilot can precisely control the flight altitude: at times, you glide just above treetops, enjoying spectacular photo opportunities of the wildlife below, while at other times, you ascend to over 300 meters to experience the impressive panorama of the national park from a bird's eye view. Amidst the brief burner sounds, there is almost complete silence – only the natural sounds of the wilderness can be heard.

After landing, the balloon ride is traditionally celebrated with a glass of champagne. Subsequently, you will be treated to a freshly prepared breakfast in the midst of the wilderness in an elegant "Out of Africa" style. Various dietary options are available.

After breakfast, you will receive your personal flight certificate. Around 09:45 a.m., you will reunite with your safari guide and continue your day's program. Following the balloon ride, you will also receive a link to the complimentary souvenir photos of your experience.

The balloons are manufactured by the world's leading producers, Cameron Balloons from the UK and UltraMagic from Spain. The color scheme in Acacia Green and Savannah Gold was deliberately chosen to harmonize with the natural colors of the African landscape. The burner systems used represent state-of-the-art technology and were selected for their high reliability and particularly quiet operation.

The pilots are among the most experienced in the industry. All hold international licenses for commercial balloon flights and possess extensive flying experience. Additionally, our partner company Serengeti Balloon Safaris employs Tanzania's only official balloon flight expert and examiner, further demonstrating the high importance placed on safety, professionalism, and quality standards.

The balloon flights are covered by the maximum insurance sum of up to 10 million US dollars.
